Cognitive Biases
Composable behavioral-science primitives. Each wrapper applies a well-researched cognitive bias (anchoring, scarcity, social proof, authority, commitment, reciprocity) to arbitrary content. Use them thoughtfully — behavioral nudges compound fast.
Reference-price wrapper. Shows a struck-through anchor value next to a prominent current value with optional savings label. Triggers anchoring bias.
Endorsement / trust badge (verified, certified, endorsed, featured). Optional link mode. Triggers authority bias.
Progressive multi-step reveal. Children with [data-step="N"] appear only when step >= N. Triggers commitment / consistency bias.
Value-first framing around a CTA. Presents a gift (free shipping, bonus, trial) as an inbound favor. Triggers reciprocity bias.
Urgency / scarcity indicator (time-based countdown, stock count, popularity). Escalates coloring when thresholds cross. Triggers loss-aversion / FOMO.
Social-proof badge showing viewing/purchasing/rating counts with optional stacked avatars. Triggers bandwagon / conformity bias.
Ethical use
Every bias wrapper is a high-leverage tool. Use them when the underlying claim is real: an actual discount, genuine stock count, real certification, authentic social proof. Fabricated urgency, invented viewer counts, or misleading authority badges cross into dark-pattern territory — Cognivo's design-advisor will flag those uses in audits.
